golden milk coconut bark

a few words about collagen

it is perfect to fortify Your Skin, Nails, Hair and Joints

While collagen can help you build or maintain muscle and speed recovery if you’re working out, you don’t have to pump iron to benefit. In fact, most people enjoy collagen for its other benefits – including…

  • Promoting resilient, flexible joints…
  • Supporting hair growth…
  • Reducing wrinkles and stretch marks…
  • And even upgrading your skin with a radiant, healthy ‘glow.’

Why Add Extra Collagen To Your Diet?

Traditionally, collagen used to make its way into our diets through foods like bone broths, slow-cooked organ meats, kidney pies, baked beef hearts, whole crustaceans, and whole-fish soups and stews…

However, unless you’re routinely eating these types of meals, chances are you’re barely getting any naturally occurring collagen protein in your diet at all!

This recipe is an alternative option to the matcha coconut bark I have posted a few posts before. In this one I use turmeric for an anti- inflammatory alternative option.  Like a chocolate piece, it is feeling and satisfying and if you love coconut you will enjoy it so much! This also includes a secret ingredient which is collagen! I love using collagen protein powder in my recipes. Find more information below:

Here is what you need for this zero carb, protein and fat loaded coconut bark.

Ingredients:

1 bar coconut cream. I used this one (this is a three pack, you can also find it at biomarkets in Gemrnay and UK)

2 tbs collagen protein powder. This is the best by bulletproof but you can also use this one. if you are not using collagen powder add 1 extra tbs nut butter.

1 tbs cashew-nut butter (or any other you like).

1 tbs cacao nibs

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tbs chia seeds

1 tsp turmeric powder for a yellow bark or 1 tbs cacao powder for a chocolaty bark

2 tbs coconut flakes roasted for 10 minutes in the oven.

10 drops of stevia (this one lasts for over a year)

hand-full of macadamias or hazelnuts crushed

1 tsp maca powder (optional)

hand-full of freeze dried blueberries

Melt the coconut butter by placing the packet in a cup of boiled water until it softens completelly. Remove from the packet and into a bowl, and mix with all other ingredients. Place in a baking dish and refrigerate until it becomes hard like chocolate.
